FAQs

We carry many dermal fillers, including the entire Restylane® portfolio, Sculptra®, Radiesse®, Belotero®, and the RHA® suite of products. During your Glowtox consultation, your injector will recommend the best product to achieve your goals.

Dermal fillers are a soft, gel-like, or paste-like substances made of hyaluronic acid (HA) or Calcium Hydroxylapatite. Filler injections are used to restore volume, lift tissue and improve wrinkles. The results of dermal fillers can be seen immediately and vary in longevity depending on the person and location of the injection, lasting six to twelve months on average. The body will naturally metabolize the filler over time.

At Glowtox, we use two types of Dermal fillers. Hyaluronic acid (HA) base Fillers or Biostimulatory Fillers. Injectable HA is a replication of the naturally occurring HA molecule we already have in the body. HA is known for its unique ability to carry 1,000 times its weight in water, providing deep hydration, and is the most popular dermal filler choice because it is reversible (able to be dissolved). There are many different types of HA filler with different properties. During your consultation, your Glowtox injector will explain the differences.
We also use biostimulatory fillers such as Radiesse® (calcium hydroxylapatite) and Sculptra® (poly-L-lactic Acid). Read more about Sculptra® here.
Radiesse® is an FDA-approved dermal filler that fills while also triggering collagen production. It is thicker than HA fillers, and that is why we tend to use it for only certain areas of the face and hands. Radiesse® is not reversible and therefore is less commonly used by many practices. However, it is one of our most popular treatments at Glowtox.

Your Glowtox injector will apply a topical anesthetic to numb the area before injection. Next, the treatment area will be cleansed, and your injector will inject the filler into the area with a needle or cannula. During Filler injections, some needle pricks can be felt, and there may be some mild discomfort. The pain dissipates quickly, but you can expect possible swelling, bruising, and tenderness at the injection site for 24-36 hours.

Dermal filler results will be noticed immediately after your treatment. Swelling post-treatment is expected and can last for up to 48 hours.
