SkinPen® Microneedling

Microneedling is a treatment known as Collagen Induction Therapy.

Thousands of micro punctures per second are created to stimulate the body to heal these micro-injuries. The skin’s natural healing process of inflammation, proliferation and then finally, collagen and elastin remodeling will result in firmer, clearer, better-looking skin.

Microneedling is suitable for all skin types; however, there are some contraindications. During a consultation, your Glowtox Provider will determine if you are a good candidate for Microneedling and the best course of action to accomplish your goals.

For up to twenty-four hours after your treatment, your skin will appear slightly red, like a slight windburn. You might feel slight warmth and tightness that will ease throughout the day. Most patients report a glow to their complexion only a few hours after treatment. Over several weeks and months, you will notice more advanced signs of improvement, like the fading of acne scarring and smoother texture as collagen continues to restore the treated areas.

Most patients obtain optimal results after a series of microneedling treatments. Your Glowtox provider will recommend 3 to 6 treatments spaced every four weeks to allow time for healing between appointments.

PRFM is the next generation of PRP. PRFM adds a scaffolding to preserve and protect platelets. When mixed with calcium chloride, PRP converts to a fibrin matrix to protect the integrity of the platelets. PRFM results in sustained growth factor release with studies showing that platelet growth factors can be released for upwards of seven days, enhancing collagen production and increasing blood supply. This is greatly enhanced from what we see with regular PRP, which only releases growth factors for hours.

During your SkinPen® microneedling procedure, we are applying PRFM to the skin so it can be absorbed into the micro-channels we are creating, which speeds up the skin’s repair process and stimulates even more collagen and elastin than with just microneedling alone.

PRFM uses your own blood platelets, unique growth factors, and healing properties to rejuvenate the skin. We use PRFM to improve wrinkles, skin texture, enlarged pores, scarring, stretch marks, and volume loss.
