What is A Non-surgical Way to Rejuvenate the Hands?

The lines on the palms of your hands might not reveal anything about you, but the backs of your hands might. Looking at someone’s hands is one of the best ways to figure out how old they are.
Caring for yourself slows down the signs of aging on your face. However, your hands’ wrinkles, bumpy veins, and age spots may tell a different story. At Glowtox, this is why we offer hand rejuvenation without surgery.

Look at this post and see the best ways to rejuvenate your hands without meeting those needles.

What is Hand Rejuvenation?

Hand rejuvenation is a procedure made to improve the look of the hands. These can include laser resurfacing, chemical peels, and injectable fillers to make the tops of the hands look smoother.Usually, this treatment happens because of how your hands are used and exposed to the environment. For instance, the hands carry a lot of weight and show signs of time and aging as we move through our lives.

What are the benefits of giving your hands a new look?

As with any treatment, the benefits depend on the patient’s primary concern and their comfort with different treatments. Some patients may feel good about fillers but not yet about fat transfer. Fillers and fat grafting are the best ways to compensate for lost volume and stimulate collagen to make wrinkled skin less noticeable. Pigmentation is best treated with lasers like IPL or chemical peels. Sclerotherapy can also be used to treat some veins.

How Hand Rejuvenation Without Surgery Works

There are so many ways to improve the look of your hands. One of these is laser resurfacing. Laser procedures can fix age spots, wrinkles, and uneven skin texture.  Usually, a team member from your provider can talk to you about the other options to create a treatment plan that is right for you. Your treatment will depend on what you want and need and your qualifications. Take some time to think about what you want and need before making an appointment with your dermatologist. Don’t rush into any procedure, even ones that don’t involve surgery, without doing the proper research.  Learning about the different kinds of procedures, their use, and how they can affect the body is essential. Everyone is unique and can respond to treatments in different ways. It’s also a good idea to meet with the doctor more than once.  Ask about how the treatment worked for other people, what you can expect, and how often you will have to do it again.

So, What kinds of treatments are there?

There are both noninvasive and invasive ways to smooth and improve the hands, so there is a treatment for every concern and level of patient comfort. But today, we’ll talk more about the painless procedures we have here at Glowtox.

Fillers

Temporary dermal fillers are the easiest way to treat volume loss. They can be injected into many places, including the hands, that have also lost volume, like the face. Besides, several fillers work well to make your hands look younger.  Unlike some of the other fillers, Radiesse helps to stimulate more collagen, which is an added benefit. And just like with fillers for the face, the appointment and the recovery are quick, but you will need more injections over time to keep the results. At Glowtox, we make a treatment plan just for you that will help you reach your goals.

Chemical peels

Chemical peels are the next best noninvasive option for removing dark spots on the hands. They work by using a chemical solution to peel off the top layers of skin, revealing new, fresher skin with a more even tone.  One problem with peels is that they don’t fix everything. For example, they don’t help with visible veins or thin hands. But still, it can work!

Other Treatments

Here are other treatments that you can try for hand rejuvenation.

  • Laser Resurfacing – is a great way to treat hyperpigmentation, sun damage from UVA and UVB rays, and uneven skin texture.
  • Sclerotherapy – is another surgical treatment that removes large veins that stick out. But for IVs and blood draws to be done in the future, patients must have reasonable access to veins in their upper arms.

How long does hand rejuvenation treatment last?

Depending on what procedure you have done on your hands, the effects will last for different amounts of time. Unfortunately, none of these non-surgical methods will be permanent. As you get older, your hands will still show signs of aging. Dermal fillers in the hands should last at least nine months, but most people will still see the effects for another 12 to 14 months. The fillers break down slowly over time and are filtered out of the body, so this treatment must be repeated yearly. But the good thing about dermal fillers is that you can usually see the results immediately. The main reason IPL and laser treatments aren’t permanent is that our bodies keep getting older. As we mature and spend time in the sun, our bodies will show signs of aging.  Even though sunspots and discolorations fixed with laser therapy or IPL will continue to look better over time, other problem areas can appear. Science hasn’t found a way to stop aging, but new non-surgical procedures can help slow it down.

Am I a candidate?

Anyone can be a candidate. But the ideal patient for hand rejuvenation procedure is those hands that are starting to show signs of aging like crepiness, boniness, hyperpigmentation, or an overall sinewy appearance that makes them look older.
If these things bother you, it’s time for a hand rejuvenation treatment. So, a board-certified dermatologist will explain your options during your initial consultation.
